irnatural Poilievre Warns Immigration Crisis Is Breaking Canada By Editors of Can't Be Censored September 29, 2025 irnatural VAUGHAN

— Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is warning that Canada's immigration system has veered off course, accusing the Liberal government of fuelling a housing and affordability crisis that is "breaking the country."

In a forthcoming Can't Be Censored interview with hosts Travis Dhanraj and Karman Wong, Poilievre argued that immigration levels have surged far beyond what Canada's infrastructure can handle. "They increased population growth by 200% overnight," he claimed.

Statistics Canada data show immigration has risen, though not by the levels cited. Poilievre continued, "Everybody from every race needs a house, needs a job, needs a doctor. If you increase the population three times faster than jobs and homes, you're going to have a shortage."

Poilievre also took direct aim at what he called "systematic fraud" in international student programs, alleging thousands were misled about opportunities in Canada. "They mortgaged their farms back home, lost everything, and found out it was all a Liberal lie," he said. "What they did to those students and temporary foreign workers... that is racial injustice."

The Liberal government has defended higher immigration targets as necessary to support an aging population and offset labour shortages. Economists remain split, with some warning that runaway growth without housing supply risks leaving both Canadians and newcomers worse off.

Immigration was one of the sharpest flashpoints in a wide-ranging interview that also delves into crime and public safety, affordability and home ownership, Canada's relationship with the United States, and the state of the media.

The full conversation — unfiltered, unscripted, and without legacy media gatekeepers — will be released Wednesday on Can't Be Censored.
